The meeting started at 7:35 pm. Joe moderated the meeting. It began with a flag salute followed by discussion of

Approval of Meeting Minutes January 11 - Carver W2TFM
Minutes approved by majority vote.
Monthly Net report – Aly – AL0Y
The net is held on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 8 pm on the WRAET 2M Repeater.
There was no net in January.
Next net will be Wednesday February 27 on the 2M repeater.

Aly was not present at the meeting. Allan, K2AJB updated the minutes for all prior meetings without Treasurer report.

Steve indicated that the Facebook page has received a number of “hits”.

Welcome George Olschiewski III, KD2QNF as our latest member!
Allan is getting information on new licensees working with Rob, NNJ Section Manager,
Proposal to select and start on the Scouting Radio Merit Badge and the Communications Merit Badge Chris KB2LNN
and Jim N2RBJ have started working on these merit badges.
ARES/RACES Drill – Mike KD2NCN
Mike, KD2NCN has selected the next drill as a Power Outage. Mike has scheduled this next drill for Saturday, March
9 at 10 am. Meet in the Municipal Building parking lot.
JOTA-JOTI 2019 – Jack, KB2LNO
Jack was not at the meeting.
Field Day 2019 – Jack, KB2LNO Jack has received permission for Field Day on June 22-23 for the St Joseph Wayne
hospital site. He awaits formal approval at which point John, KC2OII, will register us with the ARRL. Mike,
KD2NCN, advised that the Wayne Police will supply the tent, generator and the other equipment that they provided
for last year’s Field Day.
The suggestion of using a simpler call sign for our next Field Day was discussed. Jim, N2RBJ obtained the call sign
W2W which will be good for Field Day including a maximum of two weeks. All Field Day reports can and will be
filed using this call sign.
Open Chair positions:
Hamfest chair is still required.
The potential vendor for WRAET jackets, hats and etc. was at the meeting, Phil Bellomo, a Wayne resident, owner of
Finish Line Sports. Phil has done work for the Boy Scout troop for years and served as Assistant Scoutmaster. He
presented a selection of possible choices and a catalog. Dave, K2NEC, is surveying the membership as to their
preferences and will advise the outcome of that process and possible decision on ordering. Each will pay for his/her
own through a web site set up by Finish Line Sports for a month or so when ready.
Mayor/Council recognition of WRAET Club

EchoLink proposal to Wayne OEM for funding – Joe K2JVS, Matt, W2ORT
Joe, K2JVS advised that he still needs to review the cost proposal developed by, Matt, W2ORT for installing EchoLink
on the WRAET repeater which amounts to $360 plus cables plus possible recurring costs.
Programs – Matt W2ORT – The program was NNJ Section Manager, Rob Roschewsk - KA2PBT. Matt has Joe,
K2JVS, to speak on FT8 digital communications at the March meeting.
Logos for Banners, ID Cards, etc. – Matt W2ORT – Matt had earlier sent out draft designs but received little
feedback. He will send them out again and request feedback.
Other Member business proposed from the floor
Klondike scouting event took place Saturday January 26th at Shepard Lake. Dave, K2NEC; Matt, W2ORT, and
Carver, W2TFM participated provided communications for the event.
There was no business.
ADJOURNMENT – Business Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm and the program at 9:00 pm. Next meeting will be
Friday, March 9, 7:30 pm.
